New legislation in the State of Illinois is changing the permitting requirements for all projects with fire sprinkler systems, and Cybor is uniquely qualified to help you comply with these new regulations.

The Professional Engineering Practice Act of 2009 was signed into law by Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn on Monday, August 24th, 2009. Beginning January 1, 2010 every construction project (i.e. new construction, remodels, additions, etc.) in the State of Illinois with a fire suppression system must have a design document prepared and sealed by an Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer before a building permit may be issued by the local authority having jurisdiction. No longer can you proceed with construction while a fire protection contractor is selected and their shop drawings submitted. The rules governing the act further require that the engineer preparing these documents have experience and competence in the field of fire protection engineering-and no other firm in Illinois has the experience, competence, and expertise of Cybor Fire Protection.

Cybor is experienced in tenant build-outs or remodeling, tenant improvements, system upgrades, and retro-fit installations in existing facilities.

Illinois already has 70 towns that require fire sprinkler protection in one-and two- family dwellings and townhomes.
